NEWINGTON, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut veterinary hospital is partnering with a propane supplier for an unusual summertime fundraiser to benefit the Connecticut Humane Society.
Somers Veterinary Hospital and Superior Energy are sponsoring what they're calling the Lemonade Stand Challenge.
The businesses say they will match donations from anyone who opens a lemonade stand this summer in Tolland and Hartford counties to benefit the Humane Society.
The organization will accept the donations at its Newington branch during July and August.
Officials say participants simply need to tell the staff that the funds being donated came from a lemonade stand.
They say the money will go to support the Humane Society's adoption services, medical care and education programs.
