CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — Caldwell police have arrested a man accused of breaking into the bedroom of a 16-year-old girl who pulled out a knife on the intruder, and he fled out the window. Police arrested Ricky Herrera of Burley after a foot chase near the home early yesterday.

NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Authorities are investigating after finding a man's body in a Nampa canal. The body was reported by a passerby who noticed it in the water behind a health clinic. The body has not yet been identified, but police say it appears to be that of a male in his early-20s.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The new director of Idaho's federal nuclear facility says he sees plenty of opportunity to make it the nation's premier energy security lab while also bolstering the region's economy. Mark Peters says the nation's energy security involves the U.S. being able to produce its own energy in a system protected from attacks, including cyber threats.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Two conservation groups say a federal plan to bolster bull trout falls short and they've filed a 60-day notice of their intention to sue. The groups say the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's plan to recover threatened bull trout in five western states violates the Endangered Species Act. The agency seeks to boost populations in six recovery units spread over Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana and a tiny portion of Nevada.
