LAS VEGAS (AP) — Airport officials say 4.4 percent more people flew into and out of Las Vegas in April than they did a year ago.

McCarran International Airport reported 3.77 million travelers used the airport last month.

Airport traffic is up 2.4 percent for the first four months of the year.

Of the airport's five busiest carriers Spirit Airlines had the biggest increase in passengers. The airline ferried 17.8 percent more travelers in April than it did a year ago for a total of 209,335 people. United Airlines is the only carrier among the top five that had fewer passengers. The airport reports traffic dropped 6.3 percent for the airline to 317,580 passengers for the month.

Southwest Airlines remains the airport's top airline transporting 1.5 million people in April.
