MORGAN — Two people were taken to the hospital after crashing on I-84 Saturday afternoon.
At about 1:00 p.m., a 1999 Ford Pickup truck traveling westbound coming out of the S-turns at mile marker 106 went off the right side of the road and overcorrected, according to Jesse Valenzuela of the Utah Highway Patrol Department of Public Safety.
The truck crossed the median sideways, rolling twice, Valenzuela said. The driver then hit the cable barrier.
The driver, a 54-year-old male, sustained minor injuries. The female passenger was ejected, and had scrapes, road rash and a head injury. She was conscious and breathing but in critical condition when she left the scene, Valenzuela said.
A helicopter landed on I-84, shutting down eastbound lanes for approximately 15 minutes while they transported the female passenger, Valenzuela said.
The driver was taken to Ogden Regional Hospital, and the passenger was flown to McKay Dee Hospital. The names of the individuals have not yet been released.
The accident is still under investigation while troopers attempt to determine the cause of the crash, Valenzuela said.
