HEBER CITY — Police have arrested a man who claimed in bank records and on social media to be a Park City police officer, a special deputy U.S. marshal and a U.S. Army special forces sergeant.
Jeremy Keith Taulborg, 27, was booked on May 5 into the Wasatch County Jail on a $10,000 warrant accusing him of communications fraud, theft and providing false information to a law enforcement agency. No details of his arrest have been released.
According to court documents, Taulborg made claims of not only being a Park City police officer, but a U.S. marshal and U.S. Army special forces sergeant.
Taulborg is also accused of lying about his occupation to buy cars from two Heber City dealers.
He allegedly wrote checks for more than $25,000 for a Audi and $45,000 for a Ford Taurus. When the checks didn't clear, he returned the vehicles. A judge issued a warrant for his arrest on May 3.
KSL checked with all of the agencies Taulborg claimed he worked for, and none of the agencies have record of him working for them, including the Park City Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Army.
Taulborg will make his next court appearance on May 14. If convicted, he could spend up to 15 years in prison.
