DAVIS COUNTY — A box truck rolled over and an SUV slid off the road at the same spot in Davis County Friday morning. UHP suspects both vehicles were travelling too fast for conditions.
The truck hit an icy patch and rolled on the I-215 transition ramp to I-15 around 5 a.m.
A short time later and a couple of hundred feet away an SUV slid off the road, as well. No one was injured in either incident.
UHP troopers say that part of the freeway was covered with a thin layer of ice, and speeds there should not have topped 35 miles per hour. UDOT crews put a layer of salt solution on that part of I-215 to de-ice it.

Airport
Salt Lake International Airport was operating under winter conditions Friday morning, which could cause delays throughout the day.
Planes must be de-iced before taking off, and that means an extra 15 minutes on the runway.
Friday morning all runways were open and operating.
Thursday all three runways were closed for a time due to weather. Some fliers were stranded for more than 12 hours. In all, more than 200 incoming and outgoing flights were cancelled.
School closed
Students at Bryant Middle School in the Salt Lake School District were told to stay home Friday. Officials are blaming the closure on a leaking water line in the school. School will resume after the Christmas break.

Power outage
About 300 Rocky Mountain Power customers along the Wasatch Front were without power through the night and into Friday morning.
Thursday, nearly 14,000 customers were without electricity.
Rocky Mountain Power does not know how long it will take to restore power. The company said the outages are all weather related.
