FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have signed former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton.
The team announced the signing Thursday.
Patton, who spent his first four NFL seasons with the 49ers, visited the Jets last Saturday as an unrestricted free agent.
A fourth-round pick of San Francisco out of Louisiana Tech in 2013, Patton set career highs with 37 receptions and 408 yards receiving last season. New Jets offensive coordinator John Morton was Patton's position coach in San Francisco in 2013 and '14.
Patton, who has 73 career receptions for 880 yards and one touchdown, adds depth to the Jets' receiving corps which includes Eric Decker, Quincy Enunwa, Robby Anderson, Charone Peake, Devin Smith and Jalin Marshall.
