LARGO, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a Tampa Bay-area man swindled a mentally disabled woman and convinced her to have sex with him by pretending to be country music star Jason Aldean.
Largo Police tell WFLA-TV (http://bit.ly/290ciUf ) that 27-year-old Daniel Michael Farris of St. Petersburg posed on Facebook as Aldean and as a friend of the singer.
According to an affidavit obtained by the news station, the victim believed Farris was Aldean, and Farris convinced her to pay him $230 over two different occasions and engage in sexual intercourse with him.
Pinellas County jail records show Farris was booked Tuesday on charges of grand theft and scheme to defraud. Farris was being held Saturday on $4,000 bond, and the records did not show whether he had an attorney.
