TOP OF THE ROCK — I hate pranks. Based on my innate but finely honed skill to tease mercilessly, most people are surprised when I tell them this. But I even have a hard time with those rotten Weasley twins from Harry Potter and their fictional high jinks.

For the most part, pranks are intended to make other people feel stupid for the troublemaker's entertainment. However, some are so good-natured you forget they follow the arc of a prank.

Jimmy Fallon is just the man for such good-natured pranks.

Fallon has a way of bringing an innocent, boyish glee to everything he does. He’s unabashedly goofy, and it works in his favor as infectious delight.

This week, Fallon teamed up with star John Hamm for a “Tonight Show Celebrity Photobomb” bit on Fallon's show. Many celebrities are currently participating in a photobomb trend (jumping into a photo you’re not mean to be in) on the red carpet and in random fan pictures.

In this vein, Fallon set up a camera on “Top of the Rock,” the top of the building that houses NBC studios in New York City. Someone from his team stood behind the camera and asked tourists if they wanted to get their photo taken for NBC’s Top of the Rock website, Fallon explains in the video.

While each tourist gets their picture taken, Fallon and Hamm pop up behind them, striking poses that range from goofy faces and piggyback rides to a little something they call the “Lady and the Tramp.”

You’ll just have to watch to find out what that means.
